Signs of Problem Gambling
Problem gambling may be present if you: spend more money or time gambling than you intended; feel anxious, irritable or restless when not gambling; chase losses by continuing to gamble after losing; lie to family or friends about your gambling; neglect work, study or family responsibilities to gamble; borrow money to fund gambling; or feel that gambling controls you rather than the other way around.
Tools Available to Players
All licensed European poker operators are required to offer player protection tools. These typically include: deposit limits (daily, weekly, monthly), session time limits, reality checks (regular reminders of time spent), self-exclusion (temporary or permanent bans from the platform), and cooling-off periods. These tools can be accessed through your account settings on any licensed platform.
Self-Exclusion Programmes
Most regulated European markets operate national self-exclusion registries. If you are registered, participating operators are legally required to refuse your account. Key registries include: Spelpaus (Sweden) — the national Swedish self-exclusion registry; ROFUS (Denmark) — the Danish register of excluded players; GamStop (UK) — the UK national scheme.
